Hewlett Packard HP 5245M Electronic Counter + 5255A 3-12.4GHz Converter, tested!

Please do not attempt to gut our product to send it back as defective and avoid getting a letter from folks dealing with mail fraud. The rather rare HP5245M is clean inside and out, all buttons, dials and switches are fully functional (using
the same plug-ins as the L model
)
The M version was meant as secondary standard and is equipped with an updated oven oscillator,
aging <5 parts in 10^l0/24 hours (5245L <3 parts in 10^9/24 hours).
For that reason the Time Base output is continuously available as soon as the power cord is plugged in.
The 5255A 3-12.4GHz Plugin comes with a convenient Prescaler, reading 1-200MHz directly on the display.
All 4 feet in place + the bail (stand). Scuffs and scratches in accordance with its age.  All Nixies are bright and the M model is
using a standard Nema 5-15 power cord.
Tests performed:
Signals from 10Hz to +60MHz from a calibrated source through various time base settings.
Period measurement in Test mode and a 1KHz signal in varying settings of time base and period.
Rear output in decade steps from 0.1Hz to 10MHz.
Front output of gating signals.

3Hz to 12.4GHz Converter measurements from 3GHz to 12.4GHz.
The 1-200 MHz input measure up top 200MHz in the Plugin setting.
The AUX OUT signal is from the video amplifier output (the amplified difference frequency
between the input signal and the selected mixing frequency.).

is a
high-frequency general-purpose electronic counter.
The Model 5245M measures frequencies from 0 to +50MHz, periods from 1 usec to 10 seconds, period
averages from 10 to 100,000 periods, the ratio of two frequencies, and multiplied ratio of two frequencies.
Decade scaling to 10^9 for any frequency to 50 MHz. Standard output frequencies from 0. 1 Hz to 10
MHz in decade steps.
Four-line, binary-coded-decimal output to drive digital recorder (HP Model 562A), digital to analog
converter (HP Model 580A/581A), remote readout, or data processing.
Display storage which permits reading to be displayed while new count is made.
Remote control by external contact closure available.
Eight-digit display using rectangular (narrow) digital display tube; decimal point position and measurement
units displayed automatically. Operation with plug-in units which extend the
basic range and performance of the counter.
The system is modular in design and can be used/upgraded with a variety of available plug-ins.
The 5255A Frequency Converter
is a plug-in unit which extends the frequency
measuring capability of the 5245M Electronic Counter from 1- 200MHZ on the Prescaler input and from
3 GHz to 12.4 GHz on the Converter input. The Input Impedance is approximately 50 Ohms.
