Stephen A. Smith loses it at Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson

Fresh from tearing into Donald Trump, Stephen A. Smith has expressed his frustration with Russell Wilson’s performance during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ training camp.
Wilson had a difficult preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, where he and fellow quarterback Justin Fields played the entire game, resulting in the offense scoring a mere three points.
Both Wilson and Fields were recruited by the Steelers this offseason after losing their starting positions with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears respectively. They are currently competing for the starting job, a situation that arose after head coach Mike Tomlin initially named Wilson as the starter.

However, Wilson’s struggles during training camp and injuries have left the position up for grabs.
Their lackluster performance in the preseason game against the Bills, failing to score while playing against the Bills’ backup defensive unit, has raised questions about the potential struggles of the team’s offense this year.
On Wednesday, Wilson responded to these concerns, stating why he is not worried – a sentiment that Smith took issue with. Smith voiced his displeasure on Thursday’s episode of First Take, interrupting host Molly Qerim as she posed a question to Dan Orlovsky, unable to contain his anger.
He exclaimed: “I am going to say this on national television…. Russell Wilson, you are beginning to p— me off. Somebody had to say it so I’m gonna say it. Russ, you stunk last year. You were paid $37.5 million dollars to go away. The Broncos are willing to eat that money to get rid of you.”
“You are fighting for a starting job with Justin Fields, it ain’t Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson… it’s Justin Fields! And he’s sitting there with some smile on his face… talking about how everybody needs to relax… you ain’t Aaron Rodgers! You don’t get to say that! “.
“The only damn thing you brought to Denver was Ciara (his wife). You are fighting for your career, act like it Russell Wilson. You’re competing for the damn job.”

As Smith noted, the Broncos let Wilson go just three years into his five-year agreement, despite trading four high draft picks to secure him from the Seattle Seahawks, where he was a celebrated standout, earning nine Pro Bowl selections and participating in both a Super Bowl victory and a defeat.
Since leaving Seattle, Wilson has faced significant challenges, and now with the Steelers, they are hopeful he’ll thrive in the new offensive lineupcompeting for the primary quarterback slot against Fields.
